SDHS also works tirelessly in protecting Dharma and spreading the message of Hinduism, Universal Peace, Harmony and brotherhood. As a part of this and as per the instructions and guidelines of Pujya Sri Swamiji, SDHS supports the local GBS members in celebrating all major festivals.
On 21st & 22nd July, 2012, a special Datta homam was performed at Dundigal ashram, Hyderabad. 10 Volunteers serviced on these two days.
On 8th Jan, 2013, SDHS Volunteers of Hyderabad participated in Save Temples movement organized by Global Hindu Heritage Foundation at Tyagaraya Gaana Sabha, Chikkadapally, Hyderabad. 10 SDHS volunteers along with Smt & Sri Prakasha Rao of DYC USA were part of this noble cause.
On 26th Jan, 2013 on the occasion of Indian Republic day, SDHS Conducted Anaghavratam at Zillaparishad high school at Mangampet village, Medak district. 250 students and staff participated in this event.
On 27th Jan, 2013, SDHS Warangal Team performed mass Anagha Vratham at Kesamudram, Warangal district. 416 families performed pooja and 750 members took anna prasadam on this occasion.
Hanuman Prathishta at Mysore
A sea of devotees — both from across the country and abroad witnessed the consecration of the 70ft. tall monolith of Lord Sri Karyasiddhi Hanuman at Mysore ashrama, the first of its kind in India. 560 SDHS volunteers rendered their services during this 10 day long celebrations including Datta Jayanthi, Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Hanuman Chalisa Parayana for 40Days at Mysore
SDHS organized Hanuman Chalisa Parayana for 40 days starting from the day of consecration. During this entire period the team chanted Hanuman Chalisa round the clock. 40 Hanuman devotees from Guntur participated in this event.
On 17th March, 2013, Guntur team of SDHS volunteers conducted Hanumath vratha at Oleru . The significance of this vratha is that this was conducted in Banana garden on an altar decorated with betal leaves. Both these are considered as favourite places for Lord Hanuman.
The Sachchidananda Lahari Bhajan group
The Sachchidananda Lahari bhajan group of SDHS propagates bhajans of Pujya Sri Swamiji in and around twin cities of Hyderabad.
As a prelude to the 70th Birthday celebrations of Pujya Sri Swamiji, this group conducted 70 bhajan sessions on the request of devotees in their homes and at various temples in Twin cities of Hyderabad & Secunderabad. The final bhajan session in this series was conducted on 7th May, 2012 by SDHS team lead by its Trustee Sri Sundara Murthy.
Volunteers of SDHS from various towns in coordination with the local GBSs conducted Anagha Vratam with Visually & mentally challenged children at various locations.
At Lebenshilfe, a special school for the mentally handicapped, in MVP colony, Vishakhapatnam,SDHS volunteers conducted Anagha vratam with over 100 people.
At Government Residential School - On 28th Feb, 2010, Anagha Vratam was performed by visually challenged girls in Government Residential School in Vishakhapatnam. About 150 visually challenged girls of this residential school participated in this program and performed puja on Braille Anagha vratam charts. SDHS volunteers team of Guntur organized this program..
At Juvenile Home for Boys - On 27th Feb, 2010, Anagha vratam was conducted by SDHS for the boys of juvenile home inVishakhapatnam. About 150 boys participated in this program and offered their prayers.
At Government Home for Deaf & dumb - On 27th Feb, 2010, Anagha vratam was conducted by SDHS for girls of Government home for street children..
At Juvenile Home for Boys - Under the leadership of Sri MSRK Murthy, Executive Trustee of Vishakapatnam GBS, on 28th Feb, 2010, SDHS volunteers conducted Anagha Vratam for the children of Dumb & Deaf Government home, Vizag. About 100 physically challenged and dumb & deaf children of this home participated and performed Anagha vratam with the help of SDHS volunteers.
During February 2010, A group of Volunteers from Guntur under the leadership of Sri B.Rami Reddy, SDHS Trustee and Team Leader, conducted Anaghavratam with 75 blind, dumb and deaf and mentally challenged children at Khambampadu, a village at a distance of 80kms from Guntur. Anaghavratam charts specially designed in Braille language were used by the blind children.
On the evening of 6th Feb, 2010, SDHS Volunteers of Guntur also conducted anaghavratam in Bapatla in which about 500 people participated. Volunteers from Addanki , Chirala,Paruchuru and other near by places rendered their services on this occasion.
November 2009 "Kasi" became the mantra of SDHS. More than 100 volunteers under the planning & guidance of Sri K. Narayana Rao worked for this mega event to ensure that 5000 devotees who visited Kasi along with Pujya Gurudeva are at comfort.
International Ramayana Conference
As DattaPeetham took a festive look to celebrate the 25th International Ramayana Conference, SDHS coordinated with the organizing committee and made the required arrangements for the delegates of the conference.
Surya Homa was conducted on Ratha Sapthami day at Dundigal ashrama and about 100 volunteers serviced for this event. Annadanam was performed for more than 1000 people.
Parayana & Japa
During August 2009, SDHS Guntur organized a 41 day long Hanuman Chalisa Parayana for 108 times a day. The Overall Incharge of SDHS, Sri K. Narayana Rao inaugurated this program at Guntur ashrama. The local trustees of the ashrama extended their complete support and made this event a grand success. About 27 volunteers participated and rendered their services in these programs. During Feb 2010, In Machilipatnam, Vishnu Sahasranama Parayana was conducted in which 20 Volunteers participated. SDHS Kamareddy organized a 3 day Guru Charithra Parayana program by Sri Makarand Maharaj of Parbhani, Maharastra from 20th to 23rd of February which was followed by Annadanam. SDHS Hyderabad conducted "Raksha Mantra Japa" on 28th Feb at Dundigal ashrama with an intention that peace should prevail in Hyderabad, so that Ugadi can be celebrated uninterruptedly with Sri Swamiji. Raksha mantra initiated by Sri Swamiji was repeated 1,50,000 times by Volunteers and devotees who participated in this two hour event which was followed by Anagha Vratam, Ganapathi Homa and Annadanam.
