Sri Swamiji makes it a part of the mission of the DattaPeetham to provide service to the poor and the needy. It is with this mission that Sri Datta Humane Services evolved as an extension of Social Wing of AvadhootaDattaPeetham and has supported numerous social projects under the guidance of Pujya Sri Swamiji since it was founded.
Sri Swamiji has emphasized many times that spiritual life is not only meditation; it also includes service to those in need. His Holiness Sri Swamiji's SACRED MISSION encompasses a range of social welfare projects including healthcare facilities, general & Vedic educational institutions, homes for destitute & the aged, free feeding centers, and assistance to victims of natural calamities such as cyclones, earthquakes, and floods. SDHS is an executing body of all these activities.

Service at Flood affected areas

On 6th Nov, 2012, SDHS Volunteers of Visakhapatnam served at various flood affected areas of Visakhapatnam. Groceries, clothes and medicines were distributed to the needy to about 250 families of various rural villages.

Summer Water Camp

On 9th April, 2012, SDHS volunteers of Warangal arranged Chalivendram-  A Summer Water camp at Chowrastha Bus stand, Hanumakonda. This camp was  inaugurated by APSRTC Regional Manager Sri Gangadhar. Sri Ganesh Avadhani of Mysore Ashram attended as Chief Guest.

During May 2009, free food and cloths distribution programs were conducted for poor and needy people at Hyderabad, Chirala,Srikakulam and Chevella centers of SDHS for the benefit of the underprivileged public.


At Srikakulam Center of SDHS - July 2009

15 volunteers of Srikakulam rendered their valuable services at various old age homes on every Sunday during the month of July 2009. Also they have extended their services for Annadanam to 100 people during Guru Purnima celebrations. This team has also coordinated for various spiritual activities like AnaghaVratam, Homa&Bhajans organized by Srikakulamashrama.

At Guntur Center of SDHS – Aug 2009
Sri Datta Humane Services under the leadership of its Guntur Team Leader Sri B. Sita Rami Reddy donated furniture and electronic equipments to Kala BharathiAndhulaAshramaPatashala of Guntur.  The overall Incharge of SDHS, Sri K. Narayana Rao handed them over to the blind school.
At Chirala Center of SDHS – Aug 2009
SDHS Volunteers of Chirala under the guidance of their Team Leader G.SeshuBabu rendered their services for the newly introduced NityaAnnadanam – daily feeding of the poor. This program which was inaugurated on August 27th, 2009 gives about 10-15 poor people everyday their daily food.
On 30th September cloths were distributed to 50 poor people of this region.  SDHS volunteers of this center are actively taking part in these activities on regular basis.
At Head Quarters – Sep 2009
On August 9th, 2009, SDHS volunteers rendered their services for an event conducted by Andhra Pradesh Senior Citizens Confederation at Sweekar - Upkar, a rehabilitation center for mentally challenged people.  President of LokSatta Party Sri Jaya Prakash Narayan was the chief guest for this program.

On 13th September 2009, about 15 volunteers rendered their services for an external organization “BharathSwabhiman Trust” at Satya Sai Nigamagamam, Punjagutta, Hyderabad.  A public meeting was arranged by this trust and requested SDHS to facilitate for the same.  All the attendees of this meeting were delighted with the services provided by the volunteers and enquired about SDHS

Support for Flood affected areas in Andhra Pradesh – Oct 2009

Over 13 lakh people were affected in five districts of Andhra Pradesh following unprecedented floods in Krishna river basin which has claimed shelter for thousands of people across 478 villages. Though massive relief and rehabilitation measures were undertaken by the Government, many remote villages were cut off with the rest of the state in terms of transportation and communication. Based on the news published in various local newspapers, SDHS identified about 5 villages in Mahboobnagar district and extended all possible support to the victims.

Sri Datta Humane Services in co-ordination with Jaya Lakshmi Mata MatruMandali,VaidhyaSevakendram, Tirumalayapalli& Reserve Bank of India conducted various Social activities in flood affected areas in Andhra Pradesh. Around 55 SDHS volunteers rendered their valuable services to the victims in Kurnool and Mahaboonagar districts in the state.  Food items, clothes and utensils were distributed to 1400 families.
