The social services wing of SDHS on a regular basis identifies poor & needy section of the society and extends their support in the form of providing financial & material help.
Donation of Cots
On 3rd Feb, 2013, Sri Datta Humane Services in co-ordination with Avadhoota Datta Peetham, Mysore, donated 60 cots to 'WE CARE', a charity organisation in Mysore in the divine presence of Pujya Gurudeva Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji and Pujya Bala Swamiji .
Distribution of Nutritious food -
On 14th Jan, 2013, on the Occasion of Pujya Sri Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji's Birthday, SDHS volunteers of Kurnool distributed Fruits and Bread packets to 900 patients in Cardiology, Nephrology, Urology and Neuro surgery wards in Govt. General Hospital, Kurnool.
On 26th Jan, 2013, on the occasion of Indian Republic day, SDHS volunteers distributed Biscuit packets to 57 students of Govt Girls hostel at Machilipatnam.
On 26th Jan, 2013, on the occasion of Indian Republic day, SDHS volunteers of Hyderabad performed annadanam at zillaparishad high school at Mangampet village,Medak dist. 210 students and staff of the school participated in this event.
Inspired by 'Bala Sachchidanandam" - the social service activity of Datta Peetham initiated by Pujya Sri Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji, SDHS volunteers of Rajahmundry distributed milk, biscuits and nutritious food to 80 children of Social Welfare Hostel at Rajanagaram, Rajahmundry On 26th Feb, 2013.
On 18th Feb, 2013, on the occasion of Ratha Sapthami, SDHS volunteers of Addanki distributed fruits and other nutritious food to patients of Government hospital. This was covered in the local print media too.
On 26th Jan, 2013, on the Occasion of Indian Republic day, SDHS team of Eluru distributed fruits to leprosy patients and HIV patients of Sri Satya Sai Old age home..
Distribution of Stationery
On22nd June, 2012 SDHS volunteers of Akiveedu distributed stationery items to school children of Akiveedu.
Distribution of Clothes
As a part of this, during September 2009, 2 unemployed poor people were donated an Autorickshaw for his livelihood.
Further, SDHS also initiated a monthly aid of Rs. 2000/- for a physically challenged person and a sum of Rs 250/- towards educational expenses for another poor student.
A donation of Rs. 15,000/- is given as medical aid for a press reporter Sri Ratnakar Sharma for his open heart surgery.
Also, SDHS volunteers made a contribution towards heart surgery of Master Avinash Kumar of Bihar state for his heart surgery.
These kind of noble acts are possible through the monthly contribution program (MCP) in which volunteers contribute towards the corpus fund of SDHS.
Blood Donation Camps
As a part of our endeavor to protect the sick & the injured, SDHS provides blood of any group to the needy in and around twin cities, round the clock, 365 days in the year. This year, various groups of blood were donated by 900 volunteers in various hospitals of twin cities to the needy patients. Apart from this, three mega blood donation camps were conducted at various locations. One being at Bangalore by the SDHS team there, other two at S.V. Engineering College, Moinabad and Dhanvantari hospital at Dundigal. On 12th September, SDHS organized a Blood Donation Camp at Moinabad in the premises of S.V. College of Engineering and Technology under the guidance of SDHS volunteer Sri Paramahamsa, who is also the Vice Principal of the college. 150 students of the college actively participated in this mega camp and donated blood. 15 SDHS volunteers rendered their valuable services in motivating these students and in organizing this event. As a part of Ugadi celebrations, a special blood donations camp was conducted on 15th March at Dhanvantari hospital in Dundigal Ashrama where about 100 SDHS volunteers donated blood. This blood donation camp was jointly conducted by Indian Red Cross, International Human Rights Society and Sri Datta Humane Services, which was covered in an online magazine "Sanchalanam.com".
